George Consulting is seeking a Software Integrator to support a Systems Integration Test and Evaluation (SITE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) with systems engineering efforts for the TacMobile program. Candidate will work closely with the P-3 and P-8 platform interfaces as well as the Global Command and Control System (GCCS).

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Lead Engineer (Level 4). The successful applicant must have a good understanding of, and experience in creating and maintaining baseline images, creating update packages used to update the baselines in the field, and keeping them up to date with both patches and STIG configurations. Utilizing ACAS to scan systems for vulnerabilities, the applicant will begin remediation of security issues at the start of a product's integration cycle, installing OS patches and vender software patches, configuring DISA STIG requirements on the system, and implementing DoD best practices on the systems before creating of the final image. The successful applicant will have familiarity with RMF and cybersecurity requirements. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain compliance of secure OSs and software in accordance with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Perform software installations, troubleshooting, and extensive information systems security analysis and implementation
  • Perform configurations to Windows registry and directory
  • Create, test, verify, and integrate Windows/Linux software update packages
  • Utilize technical writing skills to create Technical Guides and system overview documentation
  • Able to work independently with limited direction and be self-motivated
  • Able to collaborate with other contractor teammates and customers on a daily basis
  • Able to work closely with teammates and customers to ensure deliverables meet expectations and arrive in a timely manner
  • Attend and actively participate in team meeting
  • Conduct Security Control Assessments that include writing assessment plans, conducting assessment interviews, conducting security control testing, reviewing security policies and procedures, and writing assessment reports
  • Perform vulnerability scans utilizing tools such as SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, and ACAS
  • Validate security configuration of networks and computing assets against NIST guidance utilizing STIGs and other applicable policies
  • Document security and configuration defects, and working with system integrators to provide a path to resolution
  • Generate reports to provide senior and executive-level leadership with a complete and accurate picture of the security posture of their assets
  • Assist senior team members with completing their duties, and provide guidance and instruction to junior team members on proper use of tools
  • Able to collaborate with other contractor teammates and customers on a daily basis
  • Able to work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings
THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.

The Software Integrator must have previous experience and an understanding of multiple operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (COTS/GOTS), and security configurations (DISA STIG configurations).The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Required Skills & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Active DoD Security Clearance
  • 4-8 years of task specific experience, to include: Test and Evaluation of Windows Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, and COTS applications using STIGS and Nessus
  • DoD IAT Level II Certified in Security+ preferred (and required within 6 months of start date)
  • Experience evaluating POA&Ms and ACAS reports
  • Experience evaluating system security postures and providing remedial recommendations
  • Ability to perform required analysis of Windows and Unix/Linux Operating Systems
  • System administration experience with servers, workstations, virtual machines and networking devices
