Job Summary

George Consulting is seeking a software integrator to support Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic.

Job Description:


Roles and Responsibilities -The successful applicant will have previous experience and an understanding of multiple operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (COTS/GOTS), and security configurations (DISA STIG configurations). The TacMobile integration team is responsible for creating and maintaining the baseline images for the majority of the systems utilized in TacMobile. Integration is also responsible for creating update packages used to update the baselines in the field and keep them up to date with both patches and STIG configurations. Utilizing ACAS to scan systems for vulnerabilities, the Integration Team begins remediation of security issues at the start of a product’s integration cycle. Installing OS patches and vender software patches, configuring DISA STIG requirements on the system, and implementing DoD best practices on the systems before creating of the final image.. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Secure Operating Systems and software to maintain compliance with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

  • Perform software installations, troubleshooting, and perform extensive information systems security analysis and implementation.

  • Perform configurations to Windows registry and directory structure.

  • Create, test, verify, and integrate Windows/Linux software update packages.

  • Utilize technical writing skills to create Technical Guides and system overview documentation

  • Collaborate with other contractor teammates and customers daily.

  • Work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner.

  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.




The Software Integrator must have a good understanding of, and experience in multiple operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (COTS/GOTS), and security configurations (DISA STIG configurations). He/she must have knowledge and experience with Department of Defense (DoD)/Navy plans, policies, standards, and methods aimed at supporting logistics efforts that are associated with the systems administration, software development, and security compliance of software builds for military systems, specifically avionics C4ISR systems. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Required Skills & Experience:

  • Active DoD Security Clearance

  • One (1) to three (3) years of task specific experience, to include: Test and Evaluation of Windows Operating Systems, Virtual Machines and COTS applications using STIGS and Nessus.

  • Security+ certification required within 6 months of employment

  • Experience evaluating POA&Ms and ACAS reports.

  • Experience evaluating system security postures and providing remedial recommendations.

  • General broad IT knowledge of hardware and software.

  • Professional Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

  • Ability to work within a dynamic team environment.

This position requires the employee to sit for extended periods of time, often working at the computer viewing the screens and typing, communicating on the phone, can demand standing, and some lifting up to approximately 30 lbs.
